Over the Fence – 20th January 2010

As we look back over the year that was and think about the World Financial crisis, the debate over Climate Change and within our own country, the never
Ending drought, it certainly looked like a pretty tough year. There is one thing about living in the bush, nothing is better than a good wet start to the New Year to lift people’s spirits. Many of the Old Timers are likening this present weather pattern to that of twenty or thirty years ago, which could mean we are in for an excellent year. Cattle prices certainly have not bounced out of the blocks at this stage and one can only blame our high dollar for this. So looking to 2010, last years major financial problems for Australia are certainly well in hand and on the upward trend. There also appears to be some common sense now starting to appear in the Climate Change Debate. From our point of view, the economic future of Gloucester is starting to look as if we are one of the “luckiest small towns in Australia” with the advent of new industries to the area, which can only add more economic growth.

So lets have a great 2010 and eat more BEEF !!!
